A Community Project

Mel’s Bowl and Fun Center (MBFC) will be a creative playhouse for all generations. Our goal is to provide opportunities for grandparents and grandkids, couples, families, and the lone adventurer to explore their inner child in a creative environment designed by artists.

Step Inside

Inside the complex, you’ll discover full lanes of bowling, an interactive and creative obstacle course and performance space as well as an onsite bar and eatery.

The bowling alleys will be fully functional and regulation sized with electronic score screens and rotating artwork on the end.

The obstacle course will be an exquisite course of activities ranging from putt-putt to darts each station also designed by a local artist or maker. The performing space will be likened to a black box theatre with sound and lighting for up to 150 in bleacher style seats. This space can be altered for other styles of events and will be available to rent for rehearsals.

There are few options for Kittitas County residents to find family friendly activities throughout the year.  Many residents leave the county and many non-residents stay a night and go.  Providing an interesting, educational, and fun place to gather provides a safe space for friends and families to gather, whether local or passing through.

Strategic Goals

Goal 1: Build out a creative community activity center that includes 4 lanes of bowling, 9 hole interactive and create obstacle course, performance space, eatery and beverage bar.

Goal 2: Attract local artists, makers, educators and educational institutions to develop an engaging space for people of all ages. Maintain ongoing relationships to refresh and build new installations, keeping the space challenging and engaging.

Goal 3: Ensure the MBFC is an accessible and safe space for all.

Goal 4: Solicit sponsorships from community partners to offset start-up and maintenance expenses and promote local business.

Goal 5: Establish 501(c)(3) status through fiscal partnership.

Goal 6: Use advisory board expertise in grant writing to further fund and expand programming of MBFC.
